The better weather conditions allowed SGS to complete the NTS in Gorokhivska and Snigurivska communities
According to the results of the survey, a part of the territory of more than 110 hectares was released, and a part was classified as a contaminated territory.
The received data are entered into the IMSMA international information system.
During the non-technical survey, both direct and indirect evidence of contamination was recorded. In particular, fragments and fragments of explosive objects, as well as the remains of ammunition and related elements (transport containers, powder containers, tubes, etc.) were discovered during the survey.
Surveys of local residents and representatives of authorities were also conducted within the NTS. This is one of the important stages of collecting primary information. Local residents reported that the territory of the communities and adjacent lands were under heavy shelling with the use of artillery, mortars, tanks, MLRS and aviation. The territory was in the gray zone for a long time and was a battlefield.
It will be recalled that the conducted NTS gives land owners the opportunity to submit an application for demining to the Center for Humanitarian Demining (CHMD). And later, after passing the tender procedure, clean the territory with the help of certified humanitarian demining operators. The state compensates farmers for 100% of the costs of demining agricultural lands at the expense of budget funds.
