SGS supports the expansion of women’s participation in humanitarian demining
The “She Deminer” programme offers women an opportunity to receive professional training in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD Level 1) with no prior experience required—and to take their first step towards a career in mine action.
We encourage motivated candidates to take advantage of this opportunity and apply by 23 July 2026.
No previous experience is required. What matters is your motivation, sense of responsibility, willingness to learn, and readiness to work as part of a team.
During the one-month course, participants will learn how to:
- safely detect and identify explosive ordnance;
- act in accordance with national standards and safety procedures;
- apply their knowledge during practical field exercises;
- work as part of a team in conditions where discipline and attentiveness are especially important.
The training will be delivered by experienced specialists from the Humanitarian Demining Training Centre, which has already trained more than 450 women and men who now work as deminers in the regions of Ukraine most affected by the war.

Participants will receive:
- practical skills and preparation for future employment in humanitarian demining;
- a payment of USD 422 from UN Volunteers to cover personal expenses;
- free accommodation and meals;
- accident insurance for the duration of the training;
- life insurance.
