Yesterday, SGS representatives attended a workshop on "Modern Challenges and Innovative Approaches in the Field of Mine Activity", organized by the Secretariat of the National Authority for Presentation of the OSCE Support for Ukraine. Coordination of activity of executive authorities, local self -government, enterprises and organizations involved in conducting measures in the field of mine activity - became the main purpose of the meeting.
Many important issues of the industry were raised. In particular, the implementation of the operational plan of measures for the implementation of the National Strategy for Mine Activities by 2033 in 2024-2026 and the current state of demining technologies.
One of the interesting and important aspects of the discussion was the topic of the latest technologies in the field of demining. Namely, the formation of a bank of technology, the use of a landfill for testing new, the creation of a single RND -Hab in the field of mine activity, which would make a complete cycle - from the development of innovative products to their implementation in the variation of Ukrainian territories. The attendees also got acquainted with the presentation of the Iron cluster. Namely, the experience of developing startups in Miltech, the opportunities for the field of demining.
During the discussion panel, the myths and the reality of innovation were discussed. The participants agreed that the demining is not possible to fully automate and exclude the human factor, no matter how we all wanted. Unmanned demining systems and mechanical methods should go nearby, not exclude one another. Both public and private landfills are effective.The growing level of innovative technologies of demining the private sphere and the importance of engaging international experience to develop their own innovative Ukrainian mine methods was emphasized.
Another important topic of the discussion panel was the formation of an expert environment. In particular, who should become an expert in testing technologies, what criteria should be, how to organize expert support, what training programs are necessary for the training of experts, as well as the importance of the role and place of veterans in the expert environment.
