SGS: Professional Dialogue Must Lead to Practical Solutions
Recently in Kyiv, the Director of Safe Ground Solutions LLC took part in a working meeting of representatives of national mine action operators.
The discussion focused on how to make cooperation between operators, contracting authorities, and relevant institutions more transparent and practical. The participants addressed qualification requirements for public procurement of humanitarian demining services, the engagement of subcontractors, process standardisation, and quality control.
SGS’s position is clear: decisions that affect the sector must be developed through open professional dialogue with national operators. These operators work in the field every day and understand the real needs of demining teams, technical limitations, and risks that directly influence the pace and quality of returning land to safe use.
Qualification criteria must be clear and well-founded, cooperation mechanisms transparent, and quality requirements equally high for all participants.
