SGS joint Meeting on Further Coordination in Mine Action

The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine together with UNDP. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the SES, miners, international non -governmental and government organizations, international technical assistance projects, etc.

The cluster is carried out regularly to exchange information between the government, mine operators and other interested parties on the latest news and processes in the field of mine activity. The meeting is aimed at discussing processes and challenges, as well as to agree on the next steps in the activity and is part of the mechanism of coordination of the PMD cluster in Ukraine.

At this meeting, the state of implementation of the national strategy of mine activity, the implementation of the State Program of Compensation for the Dminination, as well as heard the reports of working groups was mainly discussed.

Particular attention was paid to current innovation innovations in humanitarian demining and the organization of training of specialists among veterans.

An important topic was the comprehensive assistance to the victims of GNP and enhancing the ability to assist them. In particular, the importance of improving the publication of the population about the risks of meeting with explosive subjects and teaching safe behavior.
