SGS is among the humanitarian demining operators who restore the lands of Kharkiv Oblast
The results of work for 2025 and plans for 2026 were presented at the meeting of the Mine Action Coordination Center at Kharkiv OVA, in which SGS participated. Head of the Mine Action Center, Yevgeny Biryukov, noted that primary mine action activities are planned in 32 territorial communities, and humanitarian demining operations are planned for a total area of 324.94 km2.
In particular, at the end of 2025, SGS won the auction and signed a contract for clearing more than 240 hectares of agricultural land in the Kharkiv region. About 2,000 hectares of NTS are planned to be carried out on other lands of the region.
In addition, during the meeting, the participants discussed issues of international cooperation in the field of mine action, the implementation of the compensation program for demining agricultural land, the results of the work of government, international and national operators of mine action in the territory of the Kharkiv region. Last but not least was the issue of projects for the reintegration of veterans through involvement in the field of mine action. SGS note, among other things, the relevance of Informing the population on issues of mine safety in this direction.
SGS notes that Kharkiv region remains one of the key regions of humanitarian demining, which helps to restore the capacity of not only local, but also national agriculture.
