SGS emphasized the importance of EORE at the UNDP Protection Cluster Ukraine

Today the next meeting of the National Protection Cluster was held, which voiced strategic updates of the cluster and coordination hubs.

The Technical Working Group on Age and Disabilities presented the results of the monitoring tool for the elderly and people with disabilities. The main problem here is the lack of funding.

Strategic updates from humanitarian coordination in the fields of gender violence and children's protection were also performed. The guides for the first response and contacts of redirection for trade assistance were provided.

Particular attention was paid to humanitarian coordination in the field of mine activity. Thus, a Mine Action Strategy Specialist UNDP in  Ukraine Naomi Konza presented the analysis, key points and priorities of development of issue.

The SGS representative noted the importance of informing the population about mine safety in the context of protection. In particular, the issues of terorist danger when explosive objects are thoroughly masked into ordinary everyday objects and familiar places. Or the enemy asks for the reward to transfer the parcel in which the explosive device is hidden. The danger group should also include children and adolescents who can psychologically be a easy prey for deception or recruitment.
