SGS among the 18 operators who in 2025 freed Ukrainian land from the explosive legacy of the war
The results of 2025 in humanitarian demining were discussed at the annual Demine Ukraine forum.
This year, the SGS team worked side by side with seventeen other mine action operators with a shared mission to restore people's right to safety and to live without fear. We were there where the land was full of the dirt of war and where every cleared square meter meant someone's home saved, the opportunity to work, plant, build and dream.
We are grateful to the state, which creates conditions for the uninterrupted work of operators and ensures strategic coordination. As well as international support - partners, governments and organizations that share experience, help with resources and technologies. Thanks to this cooperation, all mine action operators were able to work effectively during the year and clean the land that needed our presence so much. The year 2025 confirmed: the pace of humanitarian demining can and should be increased. And in the next year, SGS plans to increase the volume of work, expand the teams, use the latest technologies, innovative approaches and modern means of technical inspection. We carefully study the best international practices, integrate engineering solutions, test new equipment and adapt it to Ukrainian realities.
But despite the development of technologies and methods, the main thing for us remains unchanged: we are an operator of humanitarian demining. It is humanitarian. This means that people are at the center of our work. Their security, communities, fields, schools and roads. Humanitarian demining is not just a technical process. This is responsibility, transparency, strict adherence to international standards, work without haste, but with maximum dedication and attention to detail.
SGS will continue to be a part of a big common cause that makes Ukraine safer - meter by meter, step by step, day by day.
