International Mother Earth Day: Bringing Land Back to Life

Today, the world celebrates International Mother Earth Day — a day of respect for nature, life, and the future. SGS deminers are marking this day by clearing 250 hectares of agricultural land belonging to LLC “Agrofirma YUG-M”.

According to the team, the site is extremely challenging. Multiple threats have been identified, including 9N210 and 9N235 cluster submunitions, PMN-4, POM-2, and POM-3 anti-personnel mines, MON-50 and OZM-72 fragmentation mines, TM-62M and TM-62P3 anti-vehicle mines, as well as other explosive hazards. In addition, unexploded ordnance and abandoned ammunition are also encountered.

Despite the difficult conditions, the team has already found its working rhythm and plans to gradually increase the pace of operations. Every cleared meter is a contribution to environmental recovery, people’s safety, and the future of Ukraine. 🌍💚
