Grenades Instead of Mushrooms: Dangerous Discovery in Kyiv Region

Mushroom season has begun, and people are heading back into the forests. But the war has left its traps behind — hidden in the grass, beneath fallen leaves, and even in trees.
Before entering a forest, check the area on the interactive map provided by Ukraine’s State Emergency Service. Enter the name of the nearest town or village in the search bar, select it from the list, and zoom in on the forest or route you plan to visit. The map shows areas where explosive devices have been found or may still be present.
But the absence of a warning on the map does not mean an area is safe. Stay on familiar roads and paths. If you see anything suspicious, do not approach or touch it — call 101 or 102.
