April 4 - International Enlightenment Day on Mine Danger
Today, April 4, the world celebrates International Enlightenment Day on Mine Danger and Assistance in Dmining Activities
Facts to know:
Ukraine is one of the most replaced countries in the world. After the start of a full -scale invasion, more than 174 thousand km² of territory was replaced - about a third of the country.
Demand lasts for decades. For example, in Croatia, after the 1990s, it took more than 25 years to clear the territories. In Ukraine, this process can take longer.
Every day - new sacrifices. According to the SES, through mines and unobtrusive ammunition in Ukraine, civilians and rescuers are killed or injured daily.
Ukraine helps the whole world. The USA, Canada, the EU, Japan and other countries provide financial and technical support for humanitarian demining.
This day is a reminder that the war leaves the deadly traces that will have to fight for years.
In order to draw attention to such an important topic, the SGS team in cooperation with the National Academy of Management Personnel of Culture and Arts and the Ukrainian National Humanitarian Demining Association is held today by a cultural and artistic event dedicated to this day.
